The site
location for the proposed Interpretive Center on Moccasin
Bend has been identified by the National Park Service.
It will
be located on the north shore of the Tennessee River on property
that fronts Hamm Road. Easily accessible by land or water,
this site will welcome all visitors to the Archeological District.
Eventually,
the Tennessee Riverwalk and CARTA's downtown electric shuttle
routes will also extend to the site, tying the park into Chattanooga's
established greenway and transportation systems.
The
lecture series is underwritten by Greg A. Vital, President
of Independent Healthcare Properties, LLC. Lectures
will be video taped for educational and archival purposes,
through a generous gift from First Tennessee Bank.
